Pascale Vaquette
Pascale Vaquette is a French artist and ceramicist based in Los Angeles. Borrowing from the past, she uses the ancient method of coiling to hand build vessels and sculptures, made of stoneware or porcelain. The pieces are often left unglazed to reveal the natural body of the clay or textured to create a distinctive distressed look. Blurring the line between primitive and contemporary, her work captures the spontaneous beauty of imperfection.
